Radio Times launches discovery app for iPad

UK TV guide Radio Times has launched a search and discovery app for the iPad. 

Radio Times DiscoverTV is a daily TV and radio recommendation and discovery service that is being offered on a freemium basis, with a 30-day free trial of premium features.

The free element of the service offers 14-day customised TV and radio listings, by provider and location, and basic programme information.

The premium version includes a Radio Times ‘recommendations wheel’ to navigate through the app, extended daily recommendations including Top 10 Programmes to Watch Tonight and 5 Best for your TV Package, a daily round-up of links to catch-up and on-demand programmes, reviews, a reminder tool and video content including trailers, clips, interviews and daily entertainment news. The app also offers direct access to programmes on 4oD and BBC iPlayer.

The app, which will be rolled out on other mobile and tablet platforms, will be available for £2.99 (€3.55) a month or £28.99 a year.
