Humax launches new Freeview+ HD box
Set-top box supplier Humax has launched a new Freeview +HD box.
The Humax HDR-2000T is available to buy from October 18 from retailers including John Lewis, Tesco, Currys PC World, Argos and a range of independents, priced at around £179.
The DVR box offers features and apps for 50 Freeview channels, including the BBC1, BBC2, ITV and Channel 4 HD channels, and a range of on-demand content.
The device can be connected to a broadband network to enable the Humax TV Portal, giving access to BBC iPlayer, YouTube and Flickr and the Humax App Market, which offers apps from content providers such as Twitter, the Daily Express and OK! Magazine.
The twin-tuner box allows two channels to be recorded at the same time and up to 300 hours of standard definition programmes or 125 hours of HD content can be recorded and stored on the built-in 500GB hard drive, according to Humax. The box will also give access to pay TV streaming service VuTV, set to launch later this year, providing access to channels such as Nickelodeon and Comedy Central.
