Hungarian VOD firm Fuso signs Miramax deal
Hungarian video-on-demand firm Fuso has signed a deal with film and TV studio Miramax, marking the latter’s first SVoD deal in the territory.
From this autumn, Fuso Premium Movie subscribers will be able to access Miramax titles, including films like There Will be Blood, Sin City, Chocolat and Kill Bill.
Fuso launched in 2010 and its platform is available in smart TVs made by Sony, LG and Samsung, as well as on iOS devices and selected Android tablets. Support for the new Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PlayStation4 consoles is due to be added soon.
“We are thrilled to bring Miramax films to our customers. This exciting deal will enable us to make Fuso a first choice subscription service known for exceptional range and unbeatable value,” said Csaba Lazar, president of Fuso parent company Fuso Ecosystem Plc.
Australian film and TV distribution company Eastwest Entertainment was employed by Fuso to help negotiate the Miramax deal.
