Zon Multimédia chooses Appear TV for satellite upgrade
Portuguese service provider Zon Multimédia is using Appear TV’s scrambling and multiplexer solutions at its headend facility. The installation, scheduled to go live late this year, is being managed by Satcab, Appear TV’s local reseller.
Four statistical multiplexers input to the Appear TV scrambling modules that encrypt the operator’s satellite TV offering, secured with Nagra Aladin conditional access, after which the multiplexers process PSI/SI and re-multiplex the transport stream.
“The flexibility and high-density of the Appear TV scrambling solution made it an ideal choice as the scrambling solution for our upgraded satellite broadcast infrastructure,” says José Pascoal, planning and engineer director, Zon. “We already use Appear TV headends for our RF network, so we understand the advantages of the company’s modular design philosophy. We look forward to Appear TV’s scrambling and multiplexing solutions playing an important part in our state-of-the-art infrastructure upgrade.”
