YouTube to allow offline viewing on mobile apps

YouTube is to allow users to view content offline for short periods of time via its mobile apps in November.

The move is designed to enable users to view videos when an internet connection is unavailable.

YouTube did not give further details of the new feature. Mobile devices now account for over one billion daily views on the video sharing site.
