WISI to highlight latest versions of Chameleon and Tangram
WISI will use IBC to highlight new products including the latest version of its next-generation headend systems Chameleon and Tangram.
Also on show will be the OR 200, a new device combining HbbTV with classic IPTV in a single set-top box. The German company will also show the new optical platform Optopus and its fibre node and amplifier portfolio.
Chameleon is WISI’s software based headend system for network operators, broadcasters and IPTV platform operators.
Utilising a single hardware, all Chameleon modules are configured and programmed by software only. Available software modules for Chameleon include DVB modulators for different inputs, transmodulators, IP- and ASI streamer as well as re-multiplexer. WISI has extended its Tangram product family with new modules: the new DVB-IP Gateway IP streamer GT 31, the switch extension board GT 12, the decryption module GT 42, the Edge-COFDM module GT 24, the ASI Input/Output module GT32.
Tangram is a high-density platform for edge applications (IP-Gateway, Edge-QAM, Edge-COFDM, Edge-PAL and Edge-FM).
The access platform Optopus fits into optical networks such as FTTx with RF Overlay, RF over Glass architectures as well as HFC applications. At IBC WISI will present the new optical amplifier (EDFA) LX 35 that it says offers the performance of two conventional amplifiers.
LX35 is part of WISI’s RF Overlay portfolio that consists of a range of optical 1550nm transmitters and amplifiers. These meet the necessary requirements of blast and split architectures used in Point-to-Point or PON networks, according to WISI.
At IBC WISI will also show a set-top box working with the ETSI DVB-IP standard that is able to process and display HbbTV functionalities and content (multicast TV channels) via a IP net.
WISI will exhibit at IBC on stand 4.B50
