Netflix hires Chief Platform Officer
Netflix has apparently upped product development vice-president Greg Peters to chief platform/ partnership officer.
The job title was referenced in a share ownership filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, posted last week, and was first reported by tech blog GigaOm.
Peters joined Netflix in 2008 and was brought in to take responsibility for bringing to market a range of devices from leading consumer electronics manufacturers that are capable of instantly streaming movies and TV episodes from Netflix.
Previously he was senior vice president of consumer electronics products for Macrovision Solutions Corp, which changed its name to Rovi in 2009.
