BBC News Director takes up role
UK broadcaster the BBC’s new director of news and current affairs, James Harding, takes up his post today.
Formerly editor of The Times newspaper, Harding was appointed in April and was tasked by BBC director general Tony Hall with giving BBC news a “renewed sense of purpose.”
Harding’s predecessor, Helen Boaden, moved to a new role as director of BBC Radio in March.
