Rastamouse makes tracks for Lovefilm

Amazon-owned streaming service Lovefilm has acquired a children’s programming package including Rastamouse from NBCUniversal International Television Distribution’s library.

The deal gives Lovefilm UK rights to series such as Curious George, Barbie: Princess Charm School, The Land Before Time and Maisy.

Rastmouse’s international distributor DHX Media appointed NBCU subsidiary Universal Pictures UK as its local home entertainment partner in September 2011. This included digital platform sales and led to today’s deal.

The shows will be available to Lovefilm Instant subscribers on-demand as of today.

“From talking to our members we know there is a real demand for top quality entertainment for younger viewers, so we are delighted to add such great shows to our already vast library of kids content,” said Lovefilm’s chief marketing officer Simon Morris.
