Travel Channel launches Freeview block
Scripps Networks International has launched a four-hour Travel Channel programming block on UK digital-terrestrial service Freeview.
The trial primetime block will run until the end of the year on channel 42 on the EPG between the hours of 18.00 and 22.00.
Travel Channel is already available in the UK on Virgin Media and Sky and airs programmes such as Jonathan Phang’s Caribbean Cookbook, Bizarre Foods America with Andrew Zimmern, International House Hunters and World’s Greatest Motorcycle Rides.
“The launch of Travel Channel on Freeview not only brings our viewers more primetime lifestyle and entertainment programming but also strengthens the value of our subscription-free offer,” said Guy North, marketing communications director at Freeview.
Jon Sichel, managing director, UK and EMEA, Scripps Networks International added: “We want to continue to build awareness of our award-winning content and global brands, and this trial block with Freeview is a great partnership that helps us fulfill that goal.”
