Arris makes its CCAP platform generally available
Technology company Arris has made its new E6000 converged edge router generally available.
According to Arris, the E6000 has the capabilitity to realise the vision of the Comcast-sponsored CCAP initiative, which is designed to bring about a much denser headend infrastructure with the convergence of data, voice and video delivery.
The device is currently configured as a dense CMTS, although Arris has demonstrated the delivery of converged services over a single F-connector at the most recent NCTA Cable Show.
“We’re excited to declare the General Availability of the E6000 CER,” said Bruce McClelland, president, network and cloud global services, Arris. “Operators today are benefitting from the unrivaled efficiencies of the E6000 CER – in rack space, power consumption, cooling, advanced services and new applications.”
