Ziggo takes delivery of VOD-enabled CI+ modules

Ziggo has begun taking delivery of video-on-demand-enabled CI+ 1.3 conditional access modules from CAM manufacturer SMiT.

The CI+ 1.3 VOD CAM will enable Ziggo subscribers with advanced TV sets to view VOD without the need for a set-top box.

The SMiT CI+ 1.3 VOD CAM also has a built-in MHEG-5 application to provide smoother overlay display with less resource occupancy, according to SMiT.
