Neotion backs CI Plus CAMs for first and second screens

With HbbTV becoming the dominant standard for interactive, hybrid and OTT delivery, CI Plus conditional access modules (CAM) are bridging main and second screens, according to Neotion.

In a new white paper about CAM for OTT and HbbTV, the conditional access module supplier backed CI Plus CAM as “the perfect solution” for service operators that are backing massive shipments of CI Plus Connected TVs that embed HbbTV, but are also looking for specific customisation.

“By integrating CI Plus and HbbTV standards into its BlueBridge Technology and Products, Neotion is actively contributing to the emergence of new services such as TV apps combining the simultaneous use of television and mobile devices used as companion screens,” the firm said.

“We see that the coming years will be definitely governed by hybrid technologies and the development of applications which will continue to strengthen the links between the content distributors and the viewers. The CI Plus CAM solutions, already largely used by the pay-TV market, will continue to contribute significantly to the development by improving the user-experience,” added Neotion – one of the co-founders of the CI Plus consortium.
