At800 to test for 4G TV interference in York
At800, the body set up to test for interference from 4G networks on digital-terrestrial broadcasting in the UK, has said it will begin testing in York.
About 10,000 homes will be tested for interference from 4G mobile services operating in the 800MHz band, adjacent to the 700MHz frequencies currently used by Freeview.
At800 said its latest tests would enable it examine the effectiveness of its approach to predicting where interference will occur, based on factors including the strength of television signals and the frequency separation between 4G at 800 MHz and local digital terrestrial television services. It said the test will also help it refine the approach it takes for viewers who may need additional support.
