SimulTV lines up summer launch
SimulTV, a US social second screen service that combines live cable TV, interactive video, voice chat and social networking has launched in beta.
The global TV platform, designed to let people watch TV “with anyone, anywhere, anytime on any web-enabled device” is due for a general release next month.
The firm said that it will offer more than 5,000 video on demand titles and 100 channels – including a dozen channels as SimulTV exclusives dedicated to content such as music videos, film noir, cartoons, family films from around the world.
After an initial free test-drive period, subscription packages will cost from $5 to $20 per month. Video on demand titles will be priced at 99 cents and up, SimulTV said.
