Mixed results for Cyfrowy Polsat
Polish pay TV operator Cyfrowy Polsat overall TV subscriber base remained almost unchanged in the year to March 31.
The operator ended the first quarter with 3.555 million subscribers, virtually unchanged year-on-year. However, Cyfrowy Polsat’s Family package ARPU grew by 6.2% to PLN48.20 (€11.55), despite a slight fall in subscribers to 2.75 million. Subscribers to its Mini Package grew by 6.5% to 805,000, but ARPU fell by 2.2% to PLN13.20. Churn remained stable at 8.7%.
The operator managed to almost double its internet base over the year, to end March with 173,000 customers, while its mobile base at the end of the quarter stood at 140,000. Over 70% of subscribers now have HD deciders and about 14% take multiroom services.
Polsat Group’s TV channels had a 23.6% share of the advertising market in the first quarter.
Cyfrowy Polsat’s first quarter revenues were up 4% to PLN699 million, while EBITDA was down 5% to PLN245 million.
