Samsung deploys Opera in Blu-ray players

Samsung and Opera have partnered in a deal that will see the Opera web browser integrated into a line of 2013 Samsung Blu-ray players. 

The Opera-powered devices, which are due to launch globally “soon”, will offer online support for streaming services such as YouTube and the BBC’s iPlayer.

“Now, more and more people want to leverage the size of their TVs to get a better experience while watching online video. Blu-ray players with built-in internet connectivity are increasingly used for this purpose,” said Opera.
