Digital UK CEO to step down
Digital UK, the non-profit organisation formed to help consumers covert to digital TV, is searching for a new CEO after current chief David Scott said he will step down later this year.
Announcing the decision yesterday, Scott, who joined Digital UK in 2008, said he will leave once a new CEO is post, and as part of a “forthcoming consolidation of the senior management team”.
Caroline Thomson, Chair of Digital UK, is leading the recruitment process, with an appointment expected this summer. The new CEO will oversee Digital UK’s transition to DTT developments and be responsible for its strategy and the day-to-day technical management of the Freeview electronic programme guide (EPG).
Scott joined Digital UK to oversee the UK’s digital switchover and is currently working to clear Freeview signals from airwaves needed for the introduction of 4G mobile services. He said: “As Digital UK restructures to become the main driver of the Freeview platform, my role will be complete and the time is right to start the search for a new CEO to take the company forward.”
