DStv launches two new channels on Access package
MultiChoice-owned South African-based DTH pay TV service DStv has added entertainment channel Mzansi Wethu and movies service M-Net Movies Zone to its Access package.
DStv’s access package offers a range of channels for ZAR99 (€8.20) a month. The channels will also be available on the DStv Family, Compact and Premium services.
Mzansi Wethu will offer a range of soaps, sitcoms, movies, reality shows and game shows. The channel will feature a mix of shows that have already aired on the Vuzu, Channel O and Mzansi Magic channels, such as Top Shayela, Nonhle Goes to Hollywood, Inkaba and Running with the Reps, and new shows including primetime soap Zabalaza.
“We are proud to introduce Mzansi Wethu to the pay-television scene and we are delighted that it is available on an affordable package,” said Yolisa Phahle, M-Net director: local interest channels. “Mzansi Wethu authentically reflects the day-to-day reality of many South Africans and we trust that viewers will love all the new vernacular programming and other not-to-be-missed shows. Our fantastic content can now reach a much wider audience and this can only be good for the local television industry.”
M-Net Movies Zone will offer a wide range of advertising-free movies to Access package subscribers for the first time.
