BBC America inks Twitter deal
BBC America has signed a deal with Twitter to offer branded videos on the site, tied-in with its entertainment series.
Announcing the agreement on Twitter, BBC America, which is the US home to many popular BBC shows like Top Gear and Doctor Who said that through the deal it would offer the first “in-Tweet branded video synced to entertainment TV series.”
No other details were given, though the news follows reports a report earlier this week, claiming that Twitter close to signing deals with TV networks in a bid to bring more TV content and clips to the site.
According to a Bloomberg report, the social network has also held talks with Viacom about hosting clips on its site and selling ads alongside them, and held content partnership discussions with NBCUniversal.
