KDG survey reveals shift to internet viewing
About 17% of Germans are using time-shifted TV, with a third of German 16-29 year-olds are increasingly viewing time-shifted internet TV services rather than viewing broadcast channels, according to a survey carried out by Ipsos for cable operator Kabel Deutschland (KDG).
About 70% of young adults accessed online services via a smartphone, compared with 47% of the population as a whole and only 30% of over-50s, according to the survey.
Tablet use is currently less important, with only 14% of respondents accessing the internet via a tablet, ranging from 8% of 50-70 year-olds to 17% of 16-49 year-olds.
Ipsos surveyed 1,000 internet users over the age of 16 between January 19-23.
