Telenor slows pay TV decline

Telenor slowed the decline in its satellite TV base in the final quarter of 2012 to 3,000, ending the year with 945,000 customers, down from 965,000 at the end of 2011.

Total fourth-quarter revenues from Telenor Broadcast declined from NOK1.754 billion (€238 million) to NOK1.679 billion, which it attributed to lower sales from    Canal Digital to housing associations in Denmark, and the positive effect of
sub-licencing of    sports events in    the fourth quarter last year. Total EBITDA decreased by 3% and the EBITDA margin remained stable.

Telenor Satellite Broadcasting (TSBc) turned in fourth-quarter revenues of NOK247 million, down from NOK239 million, while conditional access unit Conax reported revenues of NOK167 million, up from NOK155 million.
