Verwaayen to leave Alcatel-Lucent in May
Infrastructure provider Alcatel-Lucent’s chief executive Ben Verwaayen is to leave his post in May when his current contract expires.
The news came as Alcatel-Lucent posted a better-than-expected loss of €1.372 billion for 2012 on revenue of €14.4 billion, down 5.7%.
Separately, Alcatel-Lucent and France Telecom/Orange have deployed what they say is the world’s first live 400Gbps per wavelength optical link between Paris and Lyon, providing four times the bandwidth currently available.
