Hisense chooses PacketVideo for Google TV and Smart TV
Chinese consumer electronics provider Hisense has chosen PacketVideo’s Twonky software for use in Google TV products and some Linux-powered connected TVs for international markets.
Twonky is designed to enable smart TVs to play content from any device in a suer’s local network or to use their mobile phone or tablet to control the TV. Twonky software also makes Hisense TVs DLNA compatible, according to PacketVideo.
“We are excited to work with Hisense, one of China’s leading and most innovative TV manufacturers, to create a truly innovative and unique multi-screen experience for end-users,” said Jim Brailean, CEO of PacketVideo. “Hisense shares our commitment in creating a seamless living room experience that bridges the gap between tablets and smartphones and the living room. We look forward to continuing to work with Hisense to bring the best possible experience to consumers.”
