NBC channels launch on BT
BT has inked a deal with Universal Networks International and three of the studio’s channels will launch on the UK telco’s IPTV service.
Universal Channel, Syfy and E! Entertainment will launch on BT Vision and programmes from the channels will be made available on an on-demand basis from early next year.
BT Vision’s linear channel offering now includes Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Real Time, British Eurosport, FX, National Geographic, National Geographic and UKTV’s Gold, Watch and Alibi. The telco said it will be announcing more new channels shortly.
Marc Watson, BT’s chief executive of TV, said: “Universal Channel, Syfy and E! make a fantastic contribution to our channels offering at launch. As we expand the number of channels available soon for BT Vision customers, we hope that there will be something there for everyone. We will cater for drama lovers, comedy addicts and sports fans in equal measure. We are not finished yet and we will be announcing some more much-loved channels to complete our roster.
