Multimedia Polska making digital inroads
Multimedia Polska generated revenue of PLN86.8 million (€20 million) from TV services for the three months ending September 30, a 16% year-on-year increase.
The operator said increasing take-up of digital TV services had led to the increase in revenues, which accounting for 30% of the total.
At the end of the quarter, Multimedia Polska had a total of 978,000 TV subscribers, of which 257,000 took digital services. The cable operator ended September with a total of 1.73 million RGUs, an increase of 17% year-on-year. Third quarter revenues increased to PLN174.9 million from PLN156.4 million.
Multimedia Polska CEO Andrzej Rogowski said: “Television is our main source of revenue. This was strengthened by the completion of acquisitions in recent months. Worthy of note is the continued increase in the share of income and the number of sales of digital television services. It is not only important for the segment, but it is an important part of total revenues. It is a natural and positive trend of migration of our subscribers from analogue to digital television. We expect that it will continue in the coming quarters.”
