Kudeslki sells Abilis to ALi

TV technology company Kudelski is selling its semicondictor business Abilis to set-top vendor ALi Corporation.

Swiss company Abilis develops RF modulators, secure media processors and broadcast-to-IP solutions. Under the sale agreement, ALi will support Kudelski in protecting pay TV content across the set-top box value chain. Kudelski and ALi have agreed to integrate Nagra On-Chip Security onto ALi’s lines of chipsets.

Set-top boxes powered with ALi chips and embedded with NOCS will be available to operators in 2013.
