Scripps expands European reach
Scripps Networks International has signed a raft of deals in Europe for its lifestyle channels.
Food Network has debuted in Latvia on cable network Izzi, in Georgia on cable operator Super TV’s network, in Romania on Intersat’s service and in Serbia via Targo Telekom. The channel, which airs programmes including Cupcake Wars, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and Man vs Food Nation, has also expanded distribution in Cyprus with the launch in standard definition in the basic package of PrimTel’s IPTV service. An HD version of Food Network has been available via PrimeTel since June 2011.
Scripps’s home design, travel and cuisine channel Fine Living Network has launched for the first time in the Russian Federation through Arkhangelsk Television Company (ATK). The channel has also increased distribution in Ukraine through a new carriage agreement with Divan.TV, in the Czech Republic with IPTV provider SELF Servis and in Romania through Pan Electro.
“These new carriage deals are fuelled by the growing demand for our unique lifestyle brands and renowned programming from audiences and content distributors alike,” said Jon Sichel, managing director of Scripps Networks Interactive EMEA. “We are deeply committed to offering audiences worldwide with the highest calibre of lifestyle entertainment available through our Food Network and Fine Living channels and are thrilled to begin working with our new distribution partners to continue their international success over the coming year.”
