Trace Sports goes mobile, makes Norwegian debut
Sports celebrity lifestyle channel Trace Sports has expanded its distribution following deals with mobile TV platform Yamgo and Norwegian operator Canal Digital Kabel.
The channel, which airs programming based on the lifestyles of famous sports people, is offering content via the Yamgo TV network that streams TV content to internet enabled mobile or tablet devices worldwide using 2.5G, 3G and WiFi connections.
CEO and founder of Yamgo Ian Mullins said: “Sport is one of the best categories for the short, sharp burst of entertainment that mobile consumers crave. Following on from the success of the recent Olympic games more people than ever are watching sports on mobile devices. Now that Trace Sports contents are available anywhere, anytime and on any device via Yamgo consumers worldwide can enjoy high quality sports TV everywhere.”
Separately, Trace Sports is now available via Canal Digital Kabel’s platform in Norway. The deal means the channel is available to approximately 500,000 subscribers in Norway as part of the optional basic pack.
Laurent Dumeau, CEO of Trace Sports, said: “Trace Sports continues its rapid global expansion – by entering the Norwegian market with a major launch on the country’s leading cable operator Canal Digital Kabel. We are very confident that new launches in Scandinavia will be announced very soon.”
