Verimatrix launches VCAS for DASH
Content security specialist Verimatrix has launched Verimatrix VCAS for DASH, a new MPEG-DASH secure delivery solution.
Verimatrix VCAS for DASH is a component within the Video Content Authority System and extends the range of services and device types that can be supported in this rights management platform. The solution is also compliant with the ISO/IEC Common Encryption (CENC) standard. The VCAS architecture also currently supports unique security enhancements to the HTTP Live Streaming protocol via its widely integrated ViewRight Webcomponents, as well as PlayReady-protected Smooth Streaming, under a VCAS harmonised rights management umbrella.
Verimatrix is currently demonstrating VCAS for DASH in collaboration with ecosystem partners Envivio and NXP at IBC. The demo aims to illustrate DASH encoding and ISO standard encryption using the Envivio Muse Encoder, Envivio Halo Network Media Processor and NXP Software’s LifeVibes QuickPlayer.
“Verimatrix is offering a solution that enables operators to leverage the flexibility and power of the Halo Network Media Processor to quickly extend its range of supported devices and deliver secure streaming services in DASH format,” said Boris Felts, vice-president, product marketing, Envivio. “With the new options that MPEG-DASH makes available and its growing market adoption, we anticipate that robust DASH support will become a competitive differentiator for multi-network operators. We are delighted to have collaborated with Verimatrix on this important project.”
