UKTV to launch branded VOD platforms

UK digital channels group UKTV is launching VOD services for its Dave, Yesterday and Really networks.

Each channel will have its own ‘player’ offering a catalogue of catch-up and archive titles.

VOD services for male-skewing channel Dave and history-themed Yesterday will be available from early October, with lifestyle channel Really to follow later that month.

UKTV has partnered with VOD specialist Capablue for the launch.

The news follows UKTV’s recent video-on-demand agreements with TalkTalk, BT Vision and Sky Anytime.

Part catch-up and part-archive, On Demand will offer the best of these populist channels – whether catching up on the brand new Red Dwarf X at Dave On Demand, or watching the top-rating factual series Museum Secrets all over again on Yesterday On Demand.”
