Akamai and Verimatrix combine for multiplatform video solution
Content delivery network specialist Akamai Technologies and Verimatrix have launched an alliance that integrates Akamai’s Sola Media Solutions’ viewer-enhancing client technologies into components of the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS). The solution combines multi-network revenue security from Verimatrix with Akamai’s delivery acceleration and audience analytics technologies.
“By aligning Akamai’s Sola Media Solutions’ capabilities with the Verimatrix VCAS offerings, we intend to add value for our customers by giving them greater visibility of, and control over, the performance of their premium video services,” said Troy Snyder, vice-president, business development, Akamai. “Working together with Verimatrix allows our two companies to better address the broader marketplace for multi-network digital TV services. The integration of VCAS stream security with Sola Media Solutions is expected to enable our customers to provide a high quality, and highly secure, viewing experience for their subscribers.”
Separately, Verimatrix has partnered with TV software company Access to launch what the companies claim to be the first ‘studio confident’ media sharing solution. The solution features the integration of Verimatrix ViewRight security with the Access NetFront Living Connect DLNA Technology Component.
