Aston to launch new CAM range
Aston will use IBC to introduce a new range of CI and CI Plus 1.3 conditional access modules and will also demonstrate HbbTV and multiroom applications.
Aston will launch a range of secure CI/CI Plus 1.3 professional and consumer CAMs. The professional range can descramble up to 16 channels simultaneously, while for consumers the standard CI Plus 1.3 integration offers enhanced possibilities for content security and guaranteed compatibility with all TV screens and CI Plus 1.3 receivers on the market, according to the company.
Aston’s range will include a USB Ready function, for which patents have been filed. The applications that this function supports will be showcased at the manufacturer’s stand. The include enabling consumers to record programmes by connecting an external hard drive to the CAM.
Aston will showcase new digital TV reception platforms with integrated HbbTV functionality and multi-room functions.
Aston will introduce the first Viaccess HbbTV-operational platform, in its most advanced version: the ACS 5.0. Based on MStar’s K2 processor, this platform is available in a twin-tuner version and has a multiroom streaming option in secure mode.
A live streaming demonstration will also be shown. Based on a STMicroelectronics platform, the multiroom solution developed by Aston makes it possible, with the use of a master receiver connected to the main screen in the house, to receive the various streams on up to three secondary screens. The secondary receivers operate without a smart card while complying with operator security requirements, according to Aston.
Aston will be exhibiting at IBC on Stand 2.C38d
