Trace Sports makes Russian expansion

French broadcaster Trace is ramping up its activity in Russia with the appointment of a managing director for the region. Trace has also secured a Universal Broadcasting licence for Russia for its Trace Sports channel.

The broadcaster already operates music channels Trace Urban and Trace Tropical in Russia and recently launched sports celebrity channel on Tricolor’s network along with programming blocks on Interesnoye TV. Having secured the Universal Licence, Trace has appointed Angela Gasic as managing director of Trace Russia and CIS countries.

Trace Sports’s CEO Laurent Dumeau said:  “The development of Trace Sports in Russia is key to Trace’s fast global expansion. Angela’s experience and expertise of Russian pay TV will accelerate the success of the channels in this exciting market.”
