Murdoch steps down from newspaper board ahead of stock split


Rupert Murdoch has stepped down from the boards of News International’s various UK newspapers ahead of the separation of News Corp businesses into distinct entities, publishing and media and entertainment, the latter of which will include News’ various TV assets.

Murdoch said he remained committed to the newspapers and the company described the move as ‘housecleaning’.
