Food Network to expand to 24 hours on Freeview
The Food Network is to expand its programming hours on UK digital terrestrial television service Freeview.
The channel is to increase the number of hours it broadcasts on the DTT service from a four-hour block to 24 hours a day. This means that Freeview subscribers will have more access to shows including Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Man vs Food Nation, and Barefoot Contessa as well as UK original commissions including Andy Bates Street Feasts and Reza, Spice Prince of India. The Food Network is currently available 24 hours a day on satellite pay TV platform Sky and cabler Virgin Media.
Nick Thorogood, managing director of Food Network EMEA said: “Today’s news is a testament to the quality of our programming and Food Network UK’s popularity and reputation amongst viewers. By extending our hours on this platform, all Freeview households will now be able to enjoy our great food entertainment all day, every day.”
