Orange moves to acquire full control of Dailymotion

France Telecom’s Orange is to acquire full control of online video service Dailymotion, according to local press reports.

The company acquired a 49% stake in the company in early 2011 for €62 million and negotiated buy options that allowed it to buy the remaining shares over a period of time. Orange is expected to exercise these options in January 2013 in a deal that is expected to fetch €72 million.
