Teleste signs UPC deal for optical nodes

Teleste (Stand E19) is to deliver optical node products to UPC Broadband, a division of Liberty Global.

According to Teleste, the new optical node platform allows cable operators to reduce network upgrade costs and improve subscriber service availability as the installation time can be minimised due to intelligence embedded in the product.

The deal is understood to be valued in excess of €10 million and runs until 2018.
