Carriage and programming deals for Sundance
The international Sundance channel has inked new carriage deals for its services in Asia and programming agreements for its Asian and European offerings. Sundance has picked up UK drama series The Hour. The newsroom and espionage drama, which is set London in the 1960s, is distributed by Shine.
The channel operator has also picked up international rights to season two of western Hell on Wheels. The Endemol and eOne-distributed series is one of the original dramas from Sundance sister channel AMC in the US. Sundance has picked up premiere rights to the show in Asia from eOne and first-window rights to the show in Portugal, central and eastern Europe and second window rights in Spain.
Sundance has also picked up a movie package from Miramax for its channels in Spain and Asia. Titles include Good Will Hunting and Cold Mountain. The channel has also inked a deal with UK producer 3DD and will have extended coverage of the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Sundance has inked two carriage deals with Asian pay TV platform operators. Female-skewing service WE tv will roll out on the Vee TV IPTV service in Taiwan and the Sundance Channel will launch on SK Broadband’s South Korean IPTV service.
