Apple launches new Apple TV box, Netflix provides access via iTunes
Apple is to begin selling a new version of its Apple TV box on March 16, the company has announced. The device will support 1080p HD video, unlike the current model, which only supports 720p content.
The device will also have a new iOS-type interface that allows users to browse apps through a range of icons. The device will also give users access to movies purchased via iTunes, which can be streamed directly to it.
Apple has also announced an upgrade to its second-generation Apple TV boxes, allowing users to download an iOS-type interface.
Netflix is now allowing Apple TV users to sign up for the Netflix service direct and pay through their iTunes accounts. The move will simplify the process by which Apple TV users can register and pay for the streaming service.
