Google upgrades YouTube app for Google TV

Google is to update the YouTube experience on its Google TV platform. The internet giant will enable users of Google TV to update their YouTube app through the Android Market.

According to Google, the upgraded app will work faster and provide smoother navigation, as well as providing a new Discover feature that allows people to browse YouTube channels by categories.

Google has also added new channel pages to the app, enabling users to navigate through playlists and videos on their favourite channels and subscribe to new channels with a single lick. Users of Google TV can use their remote controls’ up and down buttons to scroll through related videos. They can also use the up and down arrows to find the Info screen and give a ‘thumbs up’, add it to a playlist of leave a comment, according to Google.
