Ziggo sees triple-play growth
Dutch cable operator Ziggo added 51,000 digital TV customers in the fourth quarter of 2011, ending December with 940,000. That figure was up 4.7% year-on-year.
The operator has seen success with its bundled offering, attracting 1.274 million triple-play subs by the end of the year, which represents over 40% of its customer base and was up 16.5% on the previous year.
Telephony subscribers were also up, 15.8% to 1.4 million, as were broadband numbers, up 9.2% to 1.7 million.
Blended ARPU in the fourth quarter was €39.19, an increase of €4.13 or 11.8%
Year-on-year. Fourth quarter revenues amounted to €378.0 million, up 5.9%. Full year revenues were up 7.4% to €1.478 billion.
Ziggo CEO Bernard Dijkhuizen said, “We have continued a strong performance in the last quarter of the year, consistent with the trends we saw throughout 2011, which produced a successful year for Ziggo. Our strategy of focusing on high quality bundled services has resulted in further growth in RGUs in both the consumer and B2B segments, driving higher revenue.
