Motorola launches Connected Home Gateway

Motorola Mobility has introduced a new home gateway device designed to enhance the ‘connected home’.

The company will launch the Connected Home Gateway at the CES trade show in Las Vegas next week. The device, using a 1.2GHz processor running Motorola’s open 4Home software platform, will enable users to operate various connected home services including home control, home security and energy management.

According to Motorola, devices in the home can be paired wirelessly and connected to the cloud for remote management on various devices and connected home services can be added, managed and troubleshot on the fly. It also allows consumers to access their homes remotely, from a smartphone, tablet or PC.
