Brightcove launches App Cloud platform

Online video technology specialist Brightcove has launched its App Cloud platform, designed to enable media publishers and web developers to build content-centric apps for multiple devices using common web standards including HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.
According to Brightcove, App Cloud is designed to make building native apps for iOS, as well as Android smartphones and tablets, faster and more natural.

“The App Cloud beta programme has been very well received over the past few months, and we have been impressed by the quality, breadth and creativity of the apps developed by our beta users,” said Ashley Streb, vice-president of technology at Brightcove. “Now, any organisation can take advantage of App Cloud to easily build, deliver, and manage dynamic, custom content apps across multiple devices for a superior end user experience.”
