Al Jazeera could launch IPO next year

Al Jazeera could launch an initial public offering in Qatar as early as next year, according to press reports.

Olivier Gueris, chief operating officer of the Qatar exchange, told the Reuters news agency that Al Jazeera would like to list next year subject to regulatory approvals and market conditions.

Gueris said that the Qatar government was keen to divest stakes in various state enterprises.
