Viasat takes on CTC distribution
Viasat has inked a deal with Russian broadcaster CTC and will handle the distribution of the international version of the Russian channel in the Baltics.
The exclusive agreement runs for five years and will see the CTC-International carried on Viasat’s pay TV platform in the region as well as on third-party pay TV systems. The channel will launch today to Viasat customers in the Baltics.
CTC-International is programmed with content from CTC Media’s three Russian channels: CTC; Domashny; and DTV.
“CTC-International is already available in the US, Israel and Germany, and we are very proud to now offer the channel to viewers in all three Baltic countries,” said Viacheslav Sinadski, chief strategy officer of CTC Media. “The launch of CTC-International in the Baltics opens new opportunities for the execution of our expansion strategy in Europe. The Baltic States have an impressive potential audience of two million Russian-speaking viewers.”
