Hungarian fixed broadband grows
Hungary now has over two million fixed broadband subscribers, according to the latest survey by regulator NMHH.
The regulator found that ADSL accounted for 796,000 subscribers, with cable close behind on 791,000. FTTx technologies accounted for 242,000 broadband subscriptions at the end of August.
Magyar Telekom was the leading supplier of fixed broadband, with a 34.7% market share, followed by UPC Hungary with 20.9% and Digi with 12.3%.
The number of fixed voice lines in the country fell from 2.14 million to 2.126 million month-on-month to the end of August, but the number of cable and IP voice customers rose over the same period.
