Leap in UK digital homes as switchover progresses

The number of all-digital TV homes in the UK has leapt from 50% to 63% this week.

Transmission company Arqiva said it had completed the switchover of two key transmitters in the UK, accounting for the large overnight gain in digital-only homes.

By the end of 2011, 11 of the 15 TV regions in the UK are scheduled to have completed switchover. So far, nine regions have switched over.
