MTG hires Patrick Svensk
Modern Times Group (MTG) has hired Partick Svensk, the former Zodiak executive who left that company following its acquisition of RDF last year.
At channel operator and programmer MTG, Svensk will be vice-president, content and chairman of MTG’s Modern Studios business. He will effectively oversee all of MTG’s content businesses including production house Strix. MTG noted that Strix president Calle Jansson will continue in his role.
Hans-Holger Albrecht, president and CEO of MTG, said: “This appointment demonstrates our commitment to take a Group-wide perspective on how we create, acquire and develop programming for our channels across all of our markets. It also reflects the growing emphasis on local content production and our desire to enhance our own in-house production capabilities.”
Albrecht added that MTG plans to build on its in-house production capabilities and extend its presence into new markets.
Svensk was the founder of Zodiak TV, which he sold to DeAgostoni ahead of the RDF deal, which created the Zodiak Media Group.
