Swiss digital cable passes one million mark

The number of digital cable subscribers in Switzerland has passed one million.

During the last three years, the number of Swiss cable households has more than doubled, according to local cable association Swisscable. By mid September, the number of households stood at 1.012 million.

“More and more customers want the benefits of digital cable TV. Digital TV is needed to receive TV programmes in HD quality, whose importance is growing rapidly, and to use new applications such as hybrid TV,” said Claudia Bolla-Vincenz, director of Swisscable.
